Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
- At least 5 years of experience in utility, broadband, ISP, or carrier-grade network settings.
- In-depth knowledge of FTTP architecture, including GPON and XGS-PON systems.
- Proficient in core routing, traffic shaping, QoS, and bandwidth management.
- Familiarity with BGP, MPLS, VLAN segmentation, and transport redundancy planning is preferred.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and NOC processes.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles as applicable to ISP and critical infrastructure environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, manage, and maintain enterprise and broadband network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, wireless technologies, FTTP systems, routing, switching, firewalls, and virtualization platforms.
- Ensure secure, segmented, and resilient network architectures across IT, OT, and broadband environments, prioritizing high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor and enhance network performance, reliability, and capacity, addressing outages and service disruptions that affect operations and customers.
- Support the operations of the broadband network, managing FTTP infrastructure, traffic flows, QoS, firmware life cycle, and capacity planning.
- Integrate network systems with enterprise platforms, including identity management, provisioning, billing, CIS, and monitoring tools.
- Maintain comprehensive network documentation, standards, configurations, and performance metrics while upholding cybersecurity controls, audits, and incident response protocols.
- Collaborate across departments with Fiber Business, Electric Operations, IT, and leadership on service delivery, capital planning, and lifecycle decisions regarding infrastructure.
