Requirements
Must:
- Over 10 years of experience in data science and analytics
- At least 5 years in progressively demanding leadership and team management roles
- Masters or PhD in statistics, applied mathematics, quantitative economics/finance, engineering, operations research, physical sciences, computer science, or other quantitative disciplines is strongly preferred
- Advanced programming proficiency; mastery in statistical programming using Python or R; skilled in data manipulation languages and big data platforms (SQL, Spark); experience with modern cloud computing solutions (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, OneTru)
- Extensive practical knowledge in applying AI (ML, agentic, LLMs), statistical inference, and predictive modeling techniques in commercial scenarios, including real-time modeling, adversarial modeling, and anomaly detection; high familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Proven analytical, critical, and creative thinking skills along with initiative in problem-solving; established interest and career pathway in industries relevant to TransUnion, such as financial services, communications, insurance, fraud, and digital marketing; preferred experience with public record data sets for investigations
- Ability to lead complex analytical projects with limited oversight while coordinating closely with multiple stakeholders; strong project and time management skills for overseeing numerous intricate portfolios and workflows simultaneously with minimal supervision in a collaborative, high-paced environment
- Demonstrated business acumen and diverse interpersonal capabilities; adept in clear communication across all levels of a dynamic, complex organization; flexible in adapting to organization changes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a history of translating technical concepts into actionable recommendations that inform stakeholders; actively promotes change and fosters the adoption of new ideas and practices
- Skills in navigating challenges and serving as a dependable partner and problem-solver
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic transformation of the Specialized Risk product portfolio by innovatively applying AI technologies, including emerging agentic AI capabilities; responsibilities include identifying AI opportunities and ensuring successful integration of these models into products
- Develop generalized, off-the-shelf scoring systems, attributes, and analytic solutions aligned with the Specialized Risk roadmap, facilitating all stages of the product development lifecycle across various industries and business processes
- Design and enhance global frameworks that optimize product development and ensure consistent and efficient delivery across our platforms
- Continuously enhance best practices for model development, including training curriculum development that leverages new R&D capabilities
- Collaborate with Solutions and Product Marketing to transform our teams innovations and deliverables into compelling, customer-centric narratives
- Advocate for innovative design strategies as a member of the Cross-Functional Leadership Team and related groups, enhancing TransUnions competitive edge
- Attract and develop leading data science talent, creating pathways for ongoing professional advancement
- Build strong, enduring relationships with data science teams across the organization to uncover collaborative opportunities and leverage cross-functional insights
