Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Relevant work experience in Project Management and/or HVACR
- Experience with estimating construction costs, project bidding, and procurement
- Familiarity with all areas of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems, and HVAC operations
- Understanding of construction methods and the ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors
- Willingness to work outside standard hours, including weekends and occasional travel
- Valid drivers license for at least 12 months with a clean driving record
- Up to 50% customer-facing/field work involvement
Responsibilities
- Develop cost estimates for materials, subcontractors, equipment, and labor for project bidding
- Create detailed project scopes based on conceptual designs and site evaluations
- Produce comprehensive cost estimates, including system sketches and preliminary proposals
- Collect project data and assess existing site conditions to finalize project scopes
- Analyze construction plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates
- Ensure the precision of purchased equipment take-off and pricing
- Review bid documents and subcontractor proposals to identify conflicts or constructability issues
- Organize pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to strategize proposals
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage vendor negotiations
- Collaborate with Account Managers to determine engineering needs and optimize costs in labor and materials
- Provide technical support during the acquisition of Trane business
- Support acquisition efforts and enhance customer satisfaction initiatives
