Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or Construction Management
- Relevant experience in Project Management and/or HVACR
- Familiarity with construction estimating and project bidding
- Knowledge of various construction aspects including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Understanding HVAC systems operations, electrical systems, and temperature controls
- Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors to extract necessary proposal details
- Willingness to work outside standard hours/weekends if needed, including occasional travel
- Valid drivers license for at least 12 months, free of major traffic violations
Responsibilities
- Generate accurate cost estimates for materials, subcontractors, and labor
- Develop a comprehensive scope of work based on design specifications
- Prepare detailed cost estimates with system diagrams and vendor quotes
- Gather project data to formulate scope and estimate
- Analyze project requirements using relevant construction plans and specifications
- Verify the accuracy of equipment take-off and pricing
- Review bidding documents for potential issues and conflicts
- Conduct pre-bid meetings to discuss scope and strategy with Account Managers
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and risks associated with projects
- Negotiate prices with vendors/subcontractors to optimize project costs
- Assist with the need for outsourced engineering and collaborate to control cost variations
- Provide technical support in strategic business pursuits and acquisition efforts
