Requirements
Must:
- Four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience
- 7-10 years of experience in Project Management and/or HVACR related fields
- Proficient in construction estimating, project bidding, and/or procurement
- Solid understanding of all construction aspects including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with HVAC operational knowledge
- Familiarity with construction methods and ability to effectively manage subcontractor communications
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours/weekends as necessary, including occasional travel with overnight stays
- Valid drivers license for at least 12 months, free of major or frequent traffic violations
Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates covering materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, and labor for project pricing
- Develop detailed project scopes based on design-build outlines or competitive bidding specifications
- Generate comprehensive cost estimates incorporating system sketches, scope definitions, and vendor quotes
- Gather necessary project data to compile accurate scopes and estimates
- Analyze project needs using industry knowledge to finalize cost estimates
- Ensure precise pricing of purchased equipment by assessing quantity, size, and specifications
- Review bid documents and conditions to identify conflicts and construction issues
- Conduct pre-bid meetings with Account Managers to strategize project scope
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks in various projects
- Assist Account Managers in evaluating the need for outsourced engineering and collaborate with Operations for cost control
- Provide key technical support during Trane business pursuits, including engagement in strategic acquisition teams
- Support efforts aimed at customer satisfaction and successful project acquisition
