Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Over 7 years of experience in backend development using Python
- Strong grasp of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs
- Practical experience with AWS or GCP cloud services (such as Lambda, ECS, S3, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery)
- Familiarity with cloud architectural patterns including serverless, event-driven, and container-based models
- Proficient in NoSQL (Cassandra) and relational (PostgreSQL) databases
- Experience with message brokers (Kafka) and caching technologies (Redis)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on scalability, security, and operational concerns
- Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid workspace
- Bilingual in French and English, with full professional proficiency in both languages
Responsibilities
- Design and build high-performance, cloud-native backend systems utilizing Python and microservices architecture
- Assess and recommend cloud services and architectural patterns (AWS/GCP) focused on scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
- Produce and maintain architectural documentation, including system diagrams, API specifications, and design decision records
- Lead technical design reviews and contribute to the enhancement of our platform architecture
- Implement RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures to facilitate seamless service communication
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using Kafka for real-time streaming and Redis for caching
- Collaborate with NoSQL (Cassandra) and relational (PostgreSQL) databases to establish robust data persistence layers
- Integrate IoT devices and building automation protocols for telemetry data collection and processing
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and oversight
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing systems to enhance performance, reliability, and observability
- Engage in code reviews and mentor team members on best practices and architectural principles
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product, data science, and mechanical engineering
