Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of experience in energy retrofits or HVAC industry design as a consulting engineer
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Technical field, or Business is mandatory
- Familiarity with cost and savings studies related to energy conservation measures (ECM)
- Knowledge of energy rebate programs, utility tariffs, and utility bill analysis
- Ability to audit existing mechanical and building systems and recommend enhancements
- Understanding of construction methods/practices with the ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors for critical proposal information
- Experience in Project Management and Performance Contracting/ESCO
- Basic understanding of engineering principles, electricity, mechanical HVAC systems, and the building construction sector
- Capability to develop and document HVAC system level sequences of operations and other control requirements is an advantage
- Proficiency in Visio, AutoCAD, or other design software; familiarity with computerized energy simulation tools is a plus
- Reliability and dependability in team collaboration
- Willingness to work outside standard hours/weekends when necessary, including potential travel with occasional overnight stays
- Must hold a valid drivers license for at least 12 months with a clean driving record regarding major violations.
Responsibilities
- Develop HVAC systems and solutions by integrating Trane equipment and controls with other leading HVAC systems, focusing on project scoping, concept development, engineering analysis, and system validation
- Collaborate with Account Managers to establish project installation budgets and prepare requests for quotations from subcontractors, including scope statements, plans, milestone dates, specifications, permitting, and bonding requirements
- Provide essential technical support in the pursuit of Trane business, participating in strategic job acquisition teams
- Oversee design processes, including conceptual site plans and preliminary engineering documents through to construction documentation
- Continually assess the efficiency of Design-Build Turnkey and ESPC processes, identifying and implementing improvements
- Manage the transition of secured customers from Project Development through project completion
- Assist with acquisition efforts and ensure customer satisfaction
- Some travel may be required, along with other assigned duties.
