Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science required.
- 1-3 years of software development experience.
- 1-3 years of C++ or similar object-oriented software design experience required.
- Experience in analysis, design, implementation, testing, and debugging of software required.
- Hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets a plus.
- Familiarity with UML and Object-Oriented Design a plus.
- Knowledge of XML, TCP/IP, MODBUS, BACnet, LonTalk a plus.
- Experience using Artificial Intelligence tools such as GitHub Co-Pilot.
- Understanding of database applications, embedded operating systems (Linux OS), and networking along with software configuration management and defect tracking tools a plus.
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment/systems is advantageous.
- Systems integration and engineering knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, implement, and test real-time embedded software for electronic industrial HVAC controls.
- Integrate software and hardware, testing and verifying system functionality.
- Contribute to the advancement of software development tools, technologies, and processes.
- Estimate tasks and generate schedules for leadership and client reporting.
- Manage defects reported from the field.
- Adhere to established product development procedures and guidelines at Trane.
- Expect approximately 5% travel related to job responsibilities.
