Requirements
Must:
- Minimum BSME or equivalent degree in a field related to data analysis, modeling, or general modeling such as mechanical engineering, building engineering, or mathematics.
- Understanding of HVAC principles and basic familiarity with HVAC equipment.
- 1-2 years experience in data analysis/modeling and applying statistical principles.
- Proficiency in programming with Python is preferred.
- Familiarity with R and SQL.
- Previous experience in M&V with IPMVP - ASHRAE Guideline 14 is an advantage.
- Possession of CEM, EMIT, and/or CMVP certifications is a significant asset.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Outstanding communication skills, comfortable engaging with various individuals across departments and explaining results according to stakeholder needs.
- Adaptability to changing procedures and a willingness to embrace new processes as required.
- Bilingual in French and English, with strong professional proficiency in both languages.
Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis and modeling of building energy consumption data using linear regression and models from IPMVP and ASHRAE GUIDELINE 14.
- Oversee the collection of baseline and post-installation data, including trends from building automation systems, field measurements, data loggers, and performance tests.
- Utilize software like Trace 3D+ to create representative site models and analyze data to determine savings across individual buildings and portfolios.
- Assess project performance risks, scrutinize savings calculations, identify patterns in energy consumption data, and review final M&V plans.
- Generate and regularly update savings reports, reviewing those prepared by colleagues as well.
- Communicate calculation results to relevant stakeholders promptly through various communication channels.
- Provide technical support during the ongoing review of data from energy management systems, encompassing troubleshooting, diagnostics, and energy savings analysis.
- Maintain oversight of projects, swiftly identifying those that are underperforming and alerting stakeholders through reports and other communication methods.
- Address performance issues at sites and collaborate with teams to develop improvement plans.
- Create standard working methods and systems to enhance the quality and efficiency of internal processes.
- Extract, manipulate, and present results derived from extensive data sets using various applications.
