Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong front-end focus, including 3+ years in an engineering management or tech lead role
- In-depth expertise in React and Next.js, including App Router, SSR, SSG, ISR, and streaming patterns
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript; fluent usage is expected from the team
- Practical experience with Tailwind CSS and component libraries such as shadcn/ui or similar
- Solid grasp of state management patterns, with experience using Zustand, Redux Toolkit, or equivalent
- Familiarity with schema validation and form handling using Zod or similar libraries
- Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs, with knowledge of API contract design and error handling
- Experience building and deploying front-end applications on AWS, including services like CloudFront, Lambda@Edge, S3, and API Gateway + Lambda
- Strong understanding of front-end performance optimization techniques including code splitting, lazy loading, and caching strategies
- Experience with unit and component testing using frameworks like Vitest or Jest, and E2E testing with Playwright or Cypress
- Familiarity with monorepo tooling and modern build systems (Turborepo, Nx, Vite, esbuild, Webpack)
- Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and retain a team of front-end engineers, including recruitment, performance reviews, coaching, and career development
- Manage the front-end architecture and technical direction for your domain, ensuring product scalability, performance, and maintainability
- Promote engineering excellence through adherence to code quality standards and continuous improvement practices
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend Engineering to define and implement features from concept to deployment
- Advocate for accessibility, performance, and user experience as core engineering priorities
- Establish and uphold best practices regarding component architecture, state management, and API integration
- Work with platform and infrastructure teams to enhance front-end delivery pipelines and serverless deployments
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical complexities into business impacts
- Balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in technical tasks and problem-solving
- Monitor key front-end metrics to identify areas for improvement
