Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Cyber Security, particularly in API gateway engineering
- Familiarity with API gateway security tools like runtime protection, discovery, or posture management
- Background in application, cloud, or security engineering roles
- Strong grasp of API fundamentals
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to address complex issues with effective solutions
- Understanding of API gateways or integration platforms and policy-based security controls
- Experience with JSON, Open API/Swagger, and standards for API documentation
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with technical and non-technical audiences
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Self-driven individual capable of working independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy security measures for REST and event-driven API gateways across cloud and hybrid environments
- Collaborate with application, security, and platform teams to integrate security in API design, development, and rollout
- Set up, configure, and enforce API gateway policies for authentication, authorization, encryption, and traffic management
- Maintain and secure API gateways and integration platforms, including setting policies, logging, monitoring, and threat detection
- Evaluate APIs for security vulnerabilities such as those listed in the OWASP API Top 10, along with authentication issues and abuse patterns
- Track API traffic and work with SOC and engineering teams during incident responses and remediation
- Participate in API security architecture evaluations and technical design conversations
- Create documentation, patterns, and instructions to facilitate secure API usage across various teams.
