Requirements
Must:
- An active TOP SECRET Security Clearance is necessary.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Significant experience in full stack software development, demonstrating a history of designing and constructing high-performance, scalable APIs and web applications.
- Profound expertise in contemporary web development technologies, covering:
- Back-end: Python (or Node.js, Java, or similar) using frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
- Front-end: JavaScript/TypeScript, with experience in React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Database technologies: SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Strong practical experience with cloud providers such as GCP, Azure, and AWS, effectively utilizing their managed services.
- Proficient in Infrastructure as Code, especially using Terraform.
- A firm understanding of distributed systems, modular monolithic architecture, API design principles, and the integration of front-end and back-end.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work proficiently in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- I will develop and sustain a highly available, low-latency, and scalable API and full stack applications.
- I will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for both front-end and back-end components.
- I will leverage managed cloud services for optimal performance, such as serverless data warehouse for analytics, managed RDMS, serverless execution, asynchronous messaging, and orchestration for complex processes.
- I will utilize Terraform to define and manage our infrastructure as code (IaC), ensuring a reproducible and automated environment.
- I will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, data scientists, and fellow engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
- I will take ownership of the entire software development lifecycle, from conception and design to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
- I will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.

Torchlight is actively looking for a driven and skilled Senior Software Engineer to create and deploy a high-performance, scalable API and full stack applications. We seek candidates with profound expertise in modern web development technologies, including both front-end and back-end frameworks, and extensive hands-on experience with cloud providers such as GCP, Azure, and AWS alongside cloud-managed services. Additionally, a background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or geospatial data is highly desirable.
