Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in developing production mobile applications, with at least 3 years specifically using React Native (essential).
- Documented success in delivering and maintaining high-quality, user-centric apps for iOS and Android platforms built with React Native.
- Advanced skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, fundamentals of React, and tools within the modern React Native ecosystem (e.g., Expo or bare workflow, Hermes engine, Reanimated, Gesture Handler).
- Comprehensive knowledge of mobile performance enhancement, memory management, bridge communication, and troubleshooting intricate cross-platform challenges.
- Experience leading technical projects or small to medium-sized engineering teams, including conducting code reviews, making architectural decisions, and mentoring both junior and senior developers.
- Familiarity with state management tools (e.g., Zustand, MobX, Redux Toolkit), navigation (e.g., React Navigation), REST/GraphQL APIs, and mobile authentication processes (e.g., OAuth, JWT, biometrics).
- Involvement with CI/CD processes for mobile, app distribution, crash reporting, and monitoring systems.
- Robust understanding of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) development, sufficient to create or troubleshoot native modules when necessary.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete development lifecycle of mobile applications, from architecture and prototyping through to deployment and post-launch refinements.
- Create scalable and maintainable mobile architectures utilizing contemporary React Native patterns (e.g., functional components, hooks, TypeScript, Zustand/Redux/Jotai, React Navigation).
- Design and implement efficient solutions, including intricate UI/UX, offline functionalities, push notifications, deep linking, analytics, and native module integrations as needed.
- Guide and enhance a team of mobile engineers through code reviews, pair programming, technical mentoring, and discussions around career growth.
- Advocate for best practices such as clean coding, TDD/unit/integration testing, CI/CD pipelines for mobile (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, etc.), code quality assessments, and performance monitoring (e.g., Flipper, Sentry, Firebase Performance).
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams to turn business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Assess and integrate third-party libraries, SDKs, and native modules (Swift/Kotlin bridges) while ensuring cross-platform uniformity.
- Drive optimization efforts in performance, accessibility, internationalization, and security standards for mobile applications.
- Manage release processes for app stores, including oversight of App Store Connect / Google Play Console, beta testing, and live operations monitoring.
- Keep abreast of updates within the React Native ecosystem, changes in iOS/Android platforms, and new mobile trends.
