Requirements

Must:
We are looking for a candidate with a solid background in providing technical support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. The ideal applicant should be capable of responding to help desk requests efficiently and running diagnostic programs to isolate and resolve issues. You should have the ability to travel occasionally to our other locations as needed.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Creating new user and email accounts - Resetting user passwords - Disabling accounts for terminated employees - Installing and configuring computer hardware and operating systems - Assisting employees with technical issues in person, over the phone, or via email promptly - Developing training manuals as necessary - Repairing or replacing malfunctioning computer hardware - Troubleshooting network problems - Repairing or replacing faulty network jacks and cables - Addressing printer issues - Aiding teachers in acquiring media resources for lesson plans (e.g., downloading and formatting instructional videos, music, and files) - Setting up and deploying classroom computers and iPads - Troubleshooting issues with Promethean boards - Supporting the IT Coordinator and other team members with assigned projects - Assisting in media acquisition for school events (e.g., talent shows, graduations) - Helping external presenters with computer-related queries - Traveling to other job sites approximately 20% of the time to assist with hardware and software issues - Maintaining up-to-date inventory records - Installing computer peripherals for users - Collecting user feedback regarding computer use - Following up with users to ensure that issues have been resolved - Being physically capable of moving and deploying equipment (less than 50 lbs) - Performing any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor or Administration

At Tiegerman School and Community Services, we are a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services to children from preschool to grade 12 and adults with developmental disabilities. This IT Help Desk position is located at our Glen Cove office, with working hours from 8 am to 4 pm. This is a non-exempt role, eligible for overtime.
