Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or lead mechanic position within a hotel or similar field; technical certification with at least 1 year of leadership experience is acceptable.
- Stationary Engineers license if mandated by local laws.
- Robust technical knowledge in HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent is necessary; advanced technical training is preferred.
- Capability to lift and transport heavy objects (up to 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently).
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, prioritize responsibilities, and manage various projects under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional, service-oriented demeanor.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to remain composed and decisive under pressure.
- Dedication to safety standards, compliance, and confidentiality.
- Willingness to work extended hours as required by business demands.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily engineering functions to ensure all property systems, equipment, and grounds meet the highest safety and performance standards.
- Aid in creating and executing plans for preventative maintenance and asset preservation.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as ADA compliance.
- Supervise, train, and inspire engineering staff in customer service, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and manage departmental schedules, budgets, and financial projections; engage in monthly profit/loss evaluations.
- Implement and monitor emergency and life safety systems, ensuring inspections and certifications align with brand standards.
- Lead initiatives for energy conservation and sustainability programs.
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and alerts, taking prompt action to resolve issues.
- Review guest feedback and ensure swift resolution of any engineering-related matters.
- Manage vendor contracts and oversee special projects or renovations as required.
- Actively participate in safety committees and support all property-wide initiatives.
