Requirements
Must:
I am looking for candidates who have over 10 years of IT support experience, with at least 5 years in a senior networking-oriented or Level 3 technical position. You should possess expert knowledge in routing/switching, VPN, and firewall configuration and troubleshooting. Experience in deploying and managing enterprise network environments, both in cloud and on-premises settings, is essential. Proficiency with Windows Server platforms (2016, 2019, 2022) and Active Directory is required, along with a comprehensive understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), NAT, port forwarding, and subnetting.
Hands-on experience with security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, EDR, MFA, and compliance best practices is important. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange Online, and mobile device management is preferred. You should be skilled in PowerShell scripting or automation, and have experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, ConnectWise, HaloPSA) and network monitoring platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, with the ability to convey complex networking concepts to executives. The capability to work independently and lead projects from design through to implementation is paramount. Preferred certifications include Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent. Additional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or similar are favorable.
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to serve as the primary escalation point for all high-complexity network and infrastructure issues across LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless, and security systems. You will lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise network solutions, including routing, switching, VLANs, and segmentation. Advanced troubleshooting of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall rules, BGP/OSPF, and related protocols will be a regular part of your day-to-day tasks.
I would like you to install, configure, and maintain core network appliances such as firewalls, switches, and wireless controllers (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco). Performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning for network infrastructure should also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will support and secure remote access solutions, collaborate with managed service provider engineering teams and third-party vendors to resolve network and service escalations, and provide secondary support for Windows Server environments and identity platforms (AD/Azure AD). Overseeing network security operations, leading technical implementations for client-specific networking projects, managing documentation, and delivering top-tier support to VIP and executive users are crucial aspects of this position.
