Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience in embedded application programming using C and C++
- Proven experience in programming embedded applications and designing system architectures
- Proficiency in low-level C programming on microcontrollers and microprocessors
- Expertise in object-oriented programming and multi-threaded applications
- Familiarity with wireless technologies such as Bluetooth and BLE
- Experience with at least one software development methodology, either Waterfall or Agile
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits, ability to read electronic schematics, and grasp microprocessor architectures and ecosystems
- Strong collaborative team player with a customer-centered approach, respectful and professional demeanor
- Bilingual in English and French, both written and spoken
- Additional assets include:
* Experience with ARM-based microprocessors and development tools
* Background in API development for Windows, iOS, or Android systems
* Experience in mobile application development
* Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Perl
* Knowledge of Java or C# for developing testing tools
* Experience with application development in LabVIEW or MATLAB for simulation, testing, and data analysis
* Familiarity with embedded Linux and building custom distributions
* Knowledge of the IEC62304 standard for medical device software development
Responsibilities
- Convert high-level product specifications into technical firmware requirements
- Define the firmware architecture for systems
- Assess and select suitable microprocessors and embedded operating system technologies for medical data acquisition systems
- Develop design documentation, implement, and test firmware for medical applications
- Participate in project planning and provide effort estimations
- Collaborate with the QA team to review, analyze, troubleshoot, and rectify firmware issues
- Work with the Hardware team to ensure seamless integration between firmware and hardware
