Requirements
Must:
- Over 7 years of experience in developing mainframe applications
- Extensive hands-on expertise in COBOL, CICS, VSAM, IDMS, and Easytrieve
- Proficient in both batch and online processing environments
- Strong background in supporting mission-critical production systems
- Solid debugging, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience within Agile or Scrum methodologies
- Excellent communication abilities for interaction across technical and business teams
- Availability for on-call rotation during evenings and weekends
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications leveraging COBOL, CICS, VSAM, and IDMS
- Analyze and convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Support and enhance existing legacy systems while aiding modernization initiatives
- Develop and expose APIs and services for mainframe and distributed system integration
- Engage in production support, focusing on root cause analysis and issue resolution
- Provide on-call assistance as part of a rotational schedule
- Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, quality assurance, and engineering teams
- Lead or contribute to code reviews, technical design discussions, and the development of best practices
- Identify and pursue opportunities for process enhancement, automation, and optimization of performance
- Mentor junior developers and offer technical guidance to the team
- Ensure compliance with security regulations and development standards
