Requirements
Must:
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of domain-specific AI/ML techniques, Large Language Models (LLMs), and frameworks associated with Generative AI.
- Over 8 years of experience in data science/AI, including 2 years in leadership roles in diagnostics, MedTech, biopharma, or healthcare.
- Proficiency in Python/R coupled with core libraries, strong command of statistical analysis, and data visualization tools.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI model training and deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or JAX.
- Familiarity with AI deployment models utilizing OpenAI, Anthropic, or Gemini on platforms such as Amazon Bedrock.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and contemporary web/mobile app development practices.
- Practical knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across diverse teams in a dynamic environment.
- Strategic mindset with the capability to execute hands-on solutions for complex challenges related to healthcare and science.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to convert strategic goals into practical engineering initiatives.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of Generative AI applications, such as AI-driven assistants and automation agents.
- Build and train domain-specific foundation models in accordance with Thermo Fishers Genetic Sciences competencies.
- Develop on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure for AI model fine-tuning in partnership with core IT teams.
- Create and manage scalable, secure, and economically efficient AI model implementations in cloud settings.
- Establish processes to monitor, secure, and enhance data pipelines that support AI applications.
- Partner with business units to align product and AI strategies with organizational growth objectives.
- Engage with key opinion leaders from companies and academic institutions in the Generative AI, health, and diagnostics sectors.
- Define use case scenarios and articulate detailed product requirements with specific benchmarks aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers, data scientists, and software developers to ensure timely project delivery.
