Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related discipline; masters degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience in a data engineering or data science capacity with varied responsibilities
- Proven ability to construct models and analyze large, intricate data sets to identify opportunities for revenue or process enhancement
- Technical expertise in Python and SQL
- Familiarity with data engineering and reporting tools (Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, SAS Analytics)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Track record of achieving results without direct authority
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies is advantageous
- Experience with distributed computation frameworks, such as Spark
- Solid knowledge of statistical concepts, including distributions, hypothesis testing, and experimental design
- Some travel expected, approximately 10%
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of data pipelines and Microsoft Fabric-based data models to facilitate integrated financial reporting and analytics
- Construct, assess, and enhance ETL processes in Python to ensure effective data ingestion, transformation, and quality across various data sources (ERP, financial systems, operational platforms)
- Collaborate with Finance leadership to outline business needs and translate them into robust technical solutions, delivering actionable insights for strategic decision-making
- Establish and enforce data engineering standards, which encompass coding practices, documentation, version control, and automated testing for ETL processes
- Create, evaluate, and implement scalable data models using Lakehouse frameworks and Fabric Data Warehouses to support forecasting, planning, and profitability assessments
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data engineers and analysts, fostering development in Fabric, Power BI, and contemporary Python data frameworks (Pandas, PySpark, SQLAlchemy)
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with Finance, IT, and Data Governance teams to ensure consistency with enterprise data architecture and security policies
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Python, and data orchestration tools, and advocate for their strategic application
- Manage multiple simultaneous projects, overseeing all facets of planning, prioritization, communication, and stakeholder engagement
