Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical area - Advanced coursework in Reliability Engineering or a professional reliability certification is preferred - Over 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, product approval, or verification testing for complex electromechanical systems - More than 3 years of experience in the design and development of mechanical or electromechanical products - Experience with HVAC/R, refrigeration, or thermal systems is highly desirable - Familiarity with regulated product testing standards such as UL, IEC, NSF, Energy Star, or DIN - Practical experience in test method development, accelerated life testing, and failure analysis - Proficient in data acquisition systems, automated testing, and technical reporting - Knowledge of Lean / PPI methodologies and continuous improvement practices - Strong understanding of system-level reliability principles and product testing methodologies - Broad technical background in mechanical, electrical, electronics, and refrigeration systems - Working knowledge of reliability tools including DFMEA, DOE, ALT, HALT, and statistical analysis - Ability to convert test data and field feedback into actionable design and process improvements - Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities - Excellent organizational skills within a dynamic, multi-project environment - Proficient with measurement and test equipment such as thermocouples, pressure transducers, force gauges, and oscilloscopes - Experience with analysis tools like Minitab, Reliasoft, or equivalent statistical software - Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence

Responsibilities

- Develop, document, and implement comprehensive reliability plans that meet product requirements, program milestones, and regulatory guidelines - Collaborate with R&D engineers and test technicians to establish test strategies, protocols, and acceptance criteria for cold storage products - Provide support for verification and validation testing, ensuring proper reliability coverage, stress conditions, and data collection - Lead the Design FMEA (DFMEA) activities and contribute to broader product risk management strategies - Analyze failures that occur during verification testing and from field performance data, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions - Utilize Physics of Failure (PoF) principles to predict degradation mechanisms in mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems - Work closely with Product Management, Product Engineering, Quality, and Regulatory teams to maintain product requirements traceability from customer needs to verification evidence - Assist in Product Approval activities by establishing traceable links between requirements, tests, results, and conclusions - Develop and uphold standardized reliability methodologies, test procedures, and design guidance to facilitate consistent, high-quality evaluations - Create and document Engineering Test Procedures (ETPs) for traditional and innovative reliability test methodologies - Champion Lean, PPI, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, minimize variability, and bolster product robustness - Provide reliability expertise to cross-functional project teams and influence design choices based on data-driven insights - Mentor engineers and technicians in reliability tools, testing methods, and analysis techniques - Foster a robust culture of safety, quality, and disciplined engineering practices - Be prepared for up to 10% domestic travel
