Requirements
Must:
- University degree in electronics, physics, engineering, computer science, or a related field preferred; or a combination of education, skills, and experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- At least 4 years of practical experience with installation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of advanced analytical tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems
- Strong ability to diagnose and repair ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems
- Proficient in managing customer interactions effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional fluency in English is essential
- Proven track record of repairing complex systems and subsystems to the component level
- Competent in MS DOS and Windows software environments
- Ability to read and interpret technical schematics
- Familiarity with ultra-high vacuum technology and phenomena
- Must have a valid passport and be willing to travel regionally and internationally as needed
- Valid drivers license is required
- Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time
- Flexible with potential overtime, including weekends and last-minute schedule changes for customer satisfaction
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs without assistance
Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation of advanced equipment and adhere to testing procedures to ensure proper functioning
- Execute scheduled maintenance visits at customer locations
- Provide diagnostic and repair assistance to customers and fellow field personnel
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers, users, and team members
- Travel frequently, sometimes on short notice, to clients sites to resolve issues or assist colleagues
- Prepare and submit comprehensive field service reports
- Train customers and users on system maintenance best practices
- Offer constructive feedback to product quality teams
- Contribute to updating and rectifying various system documentation
- Guide report generation, including identifying and isolating specific system issues
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and resource for training purposes
