Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline, or a comparable combination of education and advanced technical experience.
- Over 5 years of practical experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex analytical instruments such as SEM, TEM, FIB, or similar systems.
- Significant expertise in diagnosing and repairing ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems.
- Proficient electronic and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of electron microscopy systems and their subsystems.
- Advanced skills in diagnosing intricate system-level failures.
- Strong customer relationship management expertise.
- Excellent communication and mentorship skills.
- Ability to train clients and internal engineers on sophisticated system functionalities.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Valid drivers license.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% within the designated territory.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and work in laboratory settings.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Conduct installation, repair, calibration, and maintenance of advanced electron microscopy systems, which include:
- Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM).
- Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM).
- Focused Ion Beam (FIB) systems.
- Troubleshoot and rectify highly intricate system-level malfunctions that involve electronics, vacuum systems, high voltage systems, and integrated software.
- Act as a technical escalation point for fellow field service engineers and assist with complex service challenges.
- Lead major installations, upgrades, and system restorations.
- Mentor and provide technical support to junior field service engineers.
- Cultivate robust strategic relationships with clients and serve as a trusted technical consultant.
- Deliver advanced training on system operation, maintenance, and optimal practices to customers.
- Offer feedback to engineering, product development, and quality teams to enhance system reliability and serviceability.
- Support continuous improvement efforts throughout the field service organization.
- Maintain precise service documentation and contribute insights for enhancing service protocols and technical documentation.
