Requirements

Must:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. - Minimum of 4 years in a technology-related field. - 5 years of experience in cybersecurity with knowledge in identifying and classifying vulnerabilities and associated attacks, as well as applying cybersecurity and privacy principles to meet organizational needs. - Experience in managing an operational team. - Familiarity with incident handling methodologies. - Strong technical expertise in computer networking concepts, network security methods, cyber threats, vulnerabilities, authentication, authorization, and access control. - Understanding of the operational impacts of cybersecurity failures. - Proficiency with cyber defense and vulnerability assessment tools, and the ability to discern operational effectiveness of security systems. - Strong communication skills to convey insights about the organization’s threat landscape to enhance risk management. - Experience with data platforms like Splunk and Elastic, and query languages such as SPL. - Background with major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Experience utilizing GitHub. - Ability to offer insight and assistance regarding SOC maturity and capability gaps. - Aptitude for analytical and diagnostic thinking to derive conclusions from available information.

Responsibilities

- Provide daily operational leadership for the Security Operations Center (SOC). - Oversee service levels and internal reporting for the SOC. - Manage capacity levels within the SOC. - Administer the SOC Quality Assurance program. - Lead incident response operations based on alerts, including investigating phishing schemes and malware through various tools. - Utilize cyber defense tools for continuous monitoring and swift analysis of alerts, collaborating with business partners for prompt resolutions. - Analyze malicious activities to uncover exploited vulnerabilities and assess their impact. - Conduct research and analysis across diverse data sets for threat correlation. - Perform risk and vulnerability assessments of complex technologies, advising senior management on mitigation strategies. - Conduct threat hunting and vulnerability assessments within network environments. - Ensure communication of risks associated with network security to relevant parties. - Operate in a 24/7/365 environment, being flexible for evening, weekend, and holiday schedules as necessary. - Drive SOC projects and manage related workflows. - Maintain an updated knowledge base, including SOPs and threat intelligence documentation. - Develop metrics and dashboards for performance measurement and improvements in alert handling. - Execute quality assurance activities to enhance alert responses and rectify any identified deficiencies. - Keep documentation of security monitoring and incident response efforts using case management systems. - Provide operational support, troubleshooting and maintaining cybersecurity controls. - Mentor team members and seek to enhance the team environment. - Carry out other duties as assigned.
