Requirements
Must:
- A Bachelors degree in computer science, a related STEM discipline, or equivalent education and work experience
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
- Extensive knowledge of leading DevOps practices and CI/CD tools
- Proven experience in implementing current technology trends, including cloud-based solutions and microservices
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of architecting robust systems that mitigate single points of failure
- Exceptional communication skills, able to translate technical concepts into understandable language for business stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise in software engineering methodologies and the ability to assess software design strategies
- Experience with developer platforms such as Backstage.io, Port IO, Roadie.io, or Harness
- A history of consulting on business priorities and aligning solutions with company capabilities
- Strong leadership abilities to foster development and knowledge sharing among peers
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor teams of Software Engineers, promoting a collaborative team environment
- Collaborate with business units to set strategic objectives and develop product roadmaps
- Guide the technical direction of large programs, ensuring optimal solutions are executed to fulfill business requirements
- Align engineering initiatives with business priorities for impactful outcomes
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to maximize resource utilization
- Provide growth opportunities and professional challenges for team members, addressing skill gaps and fostering development
- Stay informed on industry trends and technologies to offer innovative solutions to software engineering challenges
- Undertake additional duties as required
