Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in customer service or front office roles
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with health records management and insurance verification
- Proficiency in using office equipment, including multiline phone systems and computers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Compassionate demeanor when interacting with patients and staff
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, referring physicians, and callers
- Manage front office tasks including checking in patients and visitors for appointments
- Collect copays, deductibles, and self-pay balances while directing patient flow for clinic efficiency
- Confirm patient demographics and insurance details, and obtain necessary referrals/authorizations
- Finalize end-of-day reports by collecting payments and balancing with reports before submission
- Correspond with patients via paperwork and letters regarding their appointments
- Arrange appointments and ensure clinic schedules are maintained for several physicians
- Operate a multiline phone system and gather pertinent information as needed
