Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree with over 8 years of relevant experience - Proficient in programming with Rockwell RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000 - Expertise in high-speed automated manufacturing systems - Strong knowledge of motion control systems involving servo motors, robotics, and pneumatics - Practical experience with Cognex Designer Vision Systems - Background in HMI development with PanelView and/or Ignition - Electrical troubleshooting skills in a production setting - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills - Experience in regulated manufacturing environments, particularly in medical devices - Project management experience is a plus - Ignition Gold Certification is advantageous - Familiarity with machine learning applications in manufacturing is beneficial

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain modular PLC programs utilizing Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block - Create scalable PLC code systems for high-speed automation environments - Develop and enhance motion control logic for servo motors, robotics, and pneumatic actuators - Configure EtherNet/IP communications and manage I/O mapping - Implement safety interlocks and machine protection measures - Conduct real-time troubleshooting of production equipment - Carry out root cause analyses for equipment downtime - Assist in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and validation tasks - Review and guide junior engineers on PLC coding best practices - Design and set up operator interfaces using PanelView and Ignition-based HMIs - Create user-friendly workflows for machine operations, recipe management, and alarm handling - Develop prioritized alarm management systems - Integrate HMI interfaces with PLC tag databases - Construct real-time dashboards reflecting production data, yield metrics, and equipment status - Implement role-based access controls in compliance with GMP standards - Troubleshoot HMI to PLC communication challenges - Develop and implement inspection programs using Cognex Designer - Configure various inspection tools including pattern matching and OCR/OCV - Incorporate vision inspection outputs into PLC logic - Calibrate and optimize camera and lighting systems for improved inspection accuracy - Validate vision systems to ensure compliance in regulated manufacturing - Integrate PLC data into Ignition SCADA systems and support MES connectivity - Enhance validation protocols for software and equipment upgrades - Identify opportunities to optimize equipment yield and operational efficiency - Assess and adopt new automation technologies - Apply machine learning methods to improve manufacturing performance where applicable
