Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 5 years in professional software engineering
- At least 2 years focused on enhancing developer experience via workflows, documentation, and platform functionality
- Proficiency in designing and developing cloud-native applications using Golang
- Practical experience with GenAI tools, such as GitHubs Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in managing and deploying resources within AWS
- Preferred: 2 years managing workloads on Kubernetes
- Preferred: Familiarity with prompt engineering or crafting AI-driven tools
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tools that enhance our product engineers workflows with GenAI-augmented experiences, collaborating with product managers and the internal AI community
- Contribute to the evolution of our internal development platform
- Uphold and support our core value of journalistic independence, while actively engaging with our mission to seek the truth and aid in understanding the world
- Report directly to the Engineering Manager of the DevEx Platforms team

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our DevEx Platforms team, which serves over 60 teams and more than 450 engineers within NYT Product Engineering. Our team of five dedicated engineers prioritizes creating exceptional experiences for developers. This hybrid role allows for up to three days of remote work weekly.
