Requirements
Must:
- 5–8 years of experience in solution architecture, application architecture, or advanced engineering roles within a large-scale enterprise setting.
- Proven capability in designing and delivering comprehensive technical solutions that meet complex business requirements across multiple systems and teams.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating within matrixed, cross-functional organizations with product, engineering, infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
- Proficiency in multi-cloud environments and AI technologies, showcasing the ability to create and deploy solutions that utilize these technologies to enhance business value and innovation.
- Strong knowledge in application and system design, including:
- Microservices and service-oriented architectures
- Event-driven and API-based integration patterns
- Practical experience with integration technologies such as REST APIs, messaging platforms, streaming, and third-party/SaaS integrations.
- Solid understanding of data architecture at the solution level, encompassing data modeling, storage selection, data flows, and data movement across systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and the design of solutions that utilize cloud-native services within enterprise guidelines.
- Experience identifying and validating non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, availability, resilience, security, and compliance).
- Background in developing or designing single-page applications using contemporary frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Experience conceptualizing and implementing cloud-based solutions utilizing Microservices or API-based integrations with a clear understanding of JSON, REST, and HTTP standards.
- Clear comprehension of cloud, hybrid cloud, and container deployment architectures, including the development of cloud-ready applications and container orchestration systems.
- Experience with Micro Frontends (MFEs), demonstrating the ability to design and implement modular and scalable front-end architectures.
- Experience working within Agile/SAFe development teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills to effectively convey solution recommendations and influence important stakeholders.
- Experience supporting solutions in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., financial services, healthcare, payments, or large SaaS enterprises) preferred.
- Preferred cloud certifications and architecture certifications.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive innovative solution designs that align with The Hartfords reference architectures, blueprints, and business and IT strategies, particularly with a focus on AI and strategic insight.
- Develop architectural standards and designs for our customer-facing digital properties, utilizing a visionary approach and comprehensive solutioning with a holistic perspective.
- Ensure solution alignment with The Hartfords reference architectures and business and IT strategies, guaranteeing they are plug-and-play and leverage APIs, platforms, and products.
- Confirm compliance with security standards, authentication, and authorization models, while integrating vendor products and services.
- Provide design support for migrating platforms and applications to the cloud, taking advantage of modernization and optimization opportunities to reduce costs and encourage a cost-effective architecture mindset.
- Create solutions using SaaS and Native Cloud architectures and services, emphasizing the rationalization and modernization of assets.
- Develop designs and integrations for both Mobile and Responsive Web, ensuring usability across all roles.
- Collaborate with agile teams to ensure architecture standards are upheld, promoting a platform and products-focused approach.
- Regularly engage with peers and senior leaders as part of a cross-functional team, influencing business leaders and crafting the business vision.
- Operate within a matrixed environment, broadening your understanding of The Hartfords lines of business and digital offerings.
- Advocate for cost-conscious architecture and frugal principles, ensuring solutions are designed to be both economical and efficient.
- Promote a culture of creating platforms and products that prioritize speed to market and minimized maintenance costs.
