Requirements
Must:
- Over 10 years of experience in software application development and managing engineering teams
- Preferred experience with Oracle Revenue Management and Billing (ORMB)
- Strategic planning and process analysis skills for evolving architecture solutions like cloud technologies (AWS)
- Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, including Java Web Services, JMS, JSP, XML, JSON, JDBC
- Familiarity with Web Services (SOAP and REST)
- Experience in containerization and cloud infrastructure such as OpenShift and AWS
- Background in the security domain is advantageous
- Proficient with Oracle and SQL Server relational databases; knowledge of open-source databases is a plus
- Experience in continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, utilizing tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Rally, and SonarQube
- Ability to write and review reusable code for backend components
- Commitment to maintaining clean code practices and adherence to industry best practices
- Experience in an Agile or SAFe development environment
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a dynamic setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present confidently
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of software engineers
- Act as the principal technical leader for the software applications, possessing in-depth knowledge of relevant technologies and business domains
- Serve as a key point of contact between architecture and technical delivery teams, influencing the technical strategy with an eye on cross-functional impacts
- Collaborate with teams to uncover integration opportunities across tools used in the software development life cycle
- Provide clear and transparent communication regarding potential risks, solutions, and business impacts promptly
- Hire, train, and nurture talent for growth opportunities while monitoring team morale and engagement
- Assess technology trade-offs to enhance customer value delivery
- Encourage teams to propose continuous improvement initiatives and support their execution
- Take initiative to drive innovation by effectively utilizing technology to address customer challenges
- Supervise technical deliverables, mentor software engineers, and enforce development best practices
- Promote a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement via regular Innovation Sprints
- Build and advocate for best practices in RESTful services, API design, distributed systems, and microservices
- Proactively resolve technical issues and risks that could jeopardize project timelines or application integrity
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to design and document solutions that align with business requirements and architectural vision
