Requirements
Must:
- 7-12 years of experience in SQL Server Administration, Development, or Architecture
- 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure
- 6+ years of technical experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including Availability Groups and Failover Clusters
- 5+ years of automation and development experience using PowerShell and PowerShell remoting via WinRM
- 2+ years of experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, with Chef or Puppet as alternatives
- 2+ years of experience with Terraform
- Strong AWS certifications are highly preferred
- Familiarity with programming languages such as TSQL, .Net, PowerShell, Python, and GO
- Solid understanding of backup and recovery processes, security configurations, license management, reporting, integration, monitoring, audit, and performance troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Agile development experience is a plus
- Experience with other database technologies such as Oracle and PostgreSQL is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of database product specialists to enhance our database product offerings on the AWS platform, particularly SQL Server on EC2
- Work on other platforms like Linux and other database technologies, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL, as needed
- Utilize AI tools to improve productivity while maintaining control over decisions
- Apply best practices for application engineering, ensuring fault tolerance, separation of duties, observability, and user-friendliness
- Leverage AI for operational improvements, such as analyzing logs and metrics, handling incidents, and managing configuration drift to facilitate quicker root-cause analysis and solutions
- Design, build, and manage SQL Server environments on Windows, both on VMware and AWS EC2
