Requirements

Must:
- A minimum of 2 years in software engineering, with a primary focus on backend applications - Proficient understanding of GIS principles and practical experience using Esri ArcGIS technologies - Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly Oracle, involving procedural development and ArcGIS ST_Geometry functions - Solid object-oriented programming capabilities in Java and Spring Boot - Eagerness to integrate AI tools within the development process - Proven ability to design, build, and support RESTful APIs - Familiarity with AWS cloud environments, including defining infrastructure with Terraform - Competent in Python, with some knowledge of Arcade and PowerShell - Experience with API gateway solutions such as Apigee or AWS API Gateway - Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps methodologies and tools like GitHub, Jenkins, and SonarQube - Effective collaboration within Agile development teams - Ability to work autonomously while engaging productively with cross-functional teams - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and business interactions - Strong attention to detail and capability to handle multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced setting - Bachelors degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a similar field, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

- Maintain and upgrade GIS platform components, including experience APIs and associated user interfaces - Design, create, and refine RESTful backend services utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and AWS with an AI-first engineering perspective using GitHub Copilot - Install, maintain, and support the ArcGIS Enterprise platform and its products (Portal, Server, Data Store) - Configure and sustain Oracle as an ArcGIS Enterprise Geodatabase - Develop and manage ArcGIS ST_Geometry functions in Oracle for spatial data handling - Create and manage spatial services through ArcGIS Pro projects and Python, including map, feature, and geoprocessing service publications - Write and manage Python and PowerShell scripts utilizing ArcPy, ArcGIS Pro models, and Jupyter Notebooks to automate business operations, analytics, and data workflows - Enhance and support Python-driven processes taking advantage of ArcGIS, ArcPy APIs, and GIS functions - Design, construct, and uphold CI/CD pipelines consistent with Enterprise DevOps standards - Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and debugging to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable solutions - Generate and sustain technical documentation, which includes solution designs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and configuration guides for long-term maintainability and platform stability
