Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field and eight (8) years of experience, or a Masters degree and six (6) years of experience. - Ideally, a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in IT. - Experience in a senior leadership role (Director level or higher) managing large teams. - Proven ability to oversee expansive Windows enterprise environments, with at least 10,000+ users/endpoints. - Comprehensive understanding of the Microsoft ecosystem (Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Windows 11, Active Directory, Azure/Entra, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager/Intune). - Familiarity with Private, Public, and Hybrid Cloud Environments. - Proficiency in Identity Management tools, such as CAS and Entra ID, including hybrid identity solutions. - Understanding of Microsoft Power Platform, specifically PowerApps. - Demonstrated experience in project management.

Responsibilities

- Provide strategic leadership for the Windows Enterprise Group and Support Services. - Create and implement a long-term strategy for modernizing the universitys Windows infrastructure, transitioning from legacy systems to hybrid and cloud-native solutions (Azure/Entra ID). - Manage software licensing (Microsoft EA), hardware lifecycle, and support personnel. Identify essential projects for the support center and Windows environment. - Lead the shift towards DevOps and agile methodologies while exploring automated solutions for system administration. - Foster strategic partnerships with stakeholders across the university and the broader higher education ecosystem. - Collaborate with the VP and CIO to establish university-wide strategic technology plans; develop and present information to the university community. - Work with the Chief Information Security Officer to integrate Zero Trust principles and manage compliance, endpoint security, and GPO baselines to safeguard institutional data (FERPA, HIPAA, research information). - Supervise Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) strategy utilizing Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Intune/Autopilot for over 40,000 endpoints. - Design, implement, and support core applications, ensuring optimal uptime for authentication services. - Collaborate with leadership to prioritize IT projects, negotiating required resources and timelines while assessing potential impacts on other initiatives. - Oversee Central IT Support Services, ensuring excellent support through various channels, while enhancing AI capabilities to improve user experience. - Cultivate strong relationships with the Division of ITs leadership team to promote a collaborative culture. - Advocate for innovative and efficient uses of information technology throughout the university. - Develop a well-defined set of enterprise platform products for the FIU community. - Establish and enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs), using data analytics for continuous service improvement. - Participate in creating disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the Windows Enterprise Team and Central IT Support Services. - Apply relevant rules, regulations, policies, and procedures as dictated by the university and regulatory agencies. - Stay updated on technological advancements such as Artificial Intelligence and assess their applicability within the Windows and Support Center ecosystems. - Remain available to handle critical duties during emergencies, including hurricanes and public health crises, making prompt notifications as necessary.
