Network Security Engineer

- I must be able to travel to alternate work locations, such as Schriever Space Force Base, to execute job duties including deployments. - I need to understand the OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLANs, and UDP Multicast. - I must have firewall configuration knowledge for systems such as Juniper, Cisco, and Palo Alto, along with knowledge of ACL design and function. - I am expected to have hands-on experience with multi-vendor switching/routing (Juniper, Cisco). - I must communicate effectively and possess excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools. - I am responsible for designing security configurations and testing procedures. - Familiarity with the NIST CVE framework is necessary. - I should have experience with virtualization and be capable of working collaboratively in a team environment with highly motivated network and system engineers. - I need intermediate knowledge of security design, development, and testing methodologies, along with a strong application of standard DOD security practices such as STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts. - Thorough documentation of project design and development efforts is essential. - I must collaborate with other departments to explain network security requirements and compliance. - I should be able to learn security hardening basics for a wide range of niche products, software, and applications. - I need to be capable of summarizing, briefing, and recommending solutions to security issues to leadership. - I must understand the basics of VMware and ESXi STIGing/Hardening.
