Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree with 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming
- Skilled in C, C++, and/or Ada (Ada preferred but not mandatory)
- Experience in developing real-time, multi-threaded systems
- Familiarity with Linux (Red Hat), virtual machines, and hypervisors
- Knowledge of low-level communication protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, SCTP)
- Experience with hardware integration and complex system interactions
- Proficient in source control and configuration management tools
- Effective communication skills and ability to work autonomously as well as in cross-functional teams
- Capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust clearance
- Must be a US citizen
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software for real-time, high-availability systems
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding, refactoring, debugging, and automated test creation
- Implement AI responsibly throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), covering requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and code reviews
- Analyze complex system requirements and convert them into efficient and manageable designs
- Create and uphold automation scripts across development, testing, and production environments
- Promote code quality, reuse, traceability, and foster cross-team collaboration
Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer with experience in AI-enabled development to join our team supporting the UK National Airspace System Replacement Product Delivery Team. This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing you to work onsite three days a week and remotely two days, based in Gaithersburg, MD; Eagan, MN; or Egg Harbor, NJ. You will engage with real-time, safety-critical systems that support air traffic operations in the UK while modernizing a high-availability air traffic management platform utilizing traditional and AI-enhanced software development methodologies.
