Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 6 years in a technical engineering or architectural role, specifically in network project management and IT systems
- Experience with at least 3 of the following technologies: Cisco Switches, Cisco Routers, Cisco Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Cisco Client, Cisco NAC
- 2-3 years in network operations support and troubleshooting or related software development experience
- 2 years as a consultant for internal/external clients, translating user needs into network solutions
- 1 year applying architectural principles to solve business challenges and develop solution roadmaps
- Strong communication, leadership, and consultative skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
- Preferred: Experience with scripting and infrastructure as code (e.g., Ansible)
- Preferred: Advanced technical certifications (Cisco CCT, CCNA, CCNP, etc.) and knowledge of Cloud Services, Directory Services, CMDB, ServiceNow, and Cybersecurity
Responsibilities
- Provide daily support and resolution for escalated issues; perform operational fixes and proactive maintenance
- Architect, design, configure, test, implement, and support networking solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments
- Maintain existing network facilities, ensuring their reliability through lifecycle management and strategic investment plans
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and advancements in networking
- Identify technical requirements and propose cost-effective solutions to align with business objectives and enhance productivity
- Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency
- Validate new requests against existing architectures to ensure compatibility and address business needs
- Develop and communicate reusable architecture standards and guidelines
- Ensure that design and implementation adhere to security and quality assurance standards; provide recommendations for issue resolution based on thorough analysis
- Maintain current Service Level Agreements
Description
We are a dynamic company seeking a Network Engineer passionate about tackling diverse challenges and contributing to large-scale IT projects for our client situated in the New Jersey area. Our engineers engage in the entire system life cycle of our local area network infrastructure, from development through operations. This role involves designing, configuring, testing, and supporting LAN solutions while working with a variety of technologies, including Cisco equipment and F5 Load Balancers. This position requires local candidates able to work in our office three days a week.
