- I have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with experience in a hotel or related field.
- I prefer at least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or similar environment.
- Trade school or college coursework in a related field is considered beneficial.
- I understand the need for flexibility, as long hours may sometimes be required.
- I can exert over 100 pounds of force occasionally, more than 50 pounds frequently, and over 20 pounds regularly.
- I can effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and guests in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
- I am skilled at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns from both employees and guests.
- I can multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- I approach all interactions with guests and employees in a courteous and service-oriented way.
- I commit to attending all required meetings and training sessions.
- I maintain regular attendance in accordance with Highgate Hotel Standards, adhering to the schedule based on hotel needs.
- I uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the appropriate uniform and nametag.
- I comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
- I strive to maximize productivity, identify issues, and assist in finding solutions.
- I am adept at problem-solving, including anticipating, identifying, and resolving issues as they arise.
- I can understand and apply complex information and data from multiple sources to meet objectives.
- I am willing to cross-train in other areas related to hotel operations.
- I can maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- I will show initiative in anticipating guest and operational needs.
- I am ready to perform other duties as assigned by management.

Responsibilities
- I will perform repairs on the hotel’s air conditioning systems, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
- I will conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, including boilers and HVAC systems.
- I will record necessary readings for equipment.
- I will test the cooling tower and document readings.
- I will replace and program televisions as needed.
- I will change light switches, receptacles, bulbs, and fixtures.
- I will handle furniture repair.
- I will replace and repair pumps.
- I will execute plumbing repairs, such as fixing clogged drains and changing washers or handles.
- I will read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
- I will trace and repair various water lines.
- I will troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
- I will maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance.
- I will ensure all work meets local, state, and federal codes.
- I will test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
- I will paint designated areas.
- I will repair and finish sheetrock as needed.
- I will address all types of wall coverings and repair the hotel’s electronic lock systems.
