Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud Solutions Team
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Over 8 years of professional experience in DevOps (AWS, Docker, Git, Linux).
- Experience in regulated or security-focused environments such as healthcare or government is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in AWS architecture and Infrastructure as Code.
- Proficiency in scripting and software development with Python and Bash (or similar languages).
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and security automation.
- Familiarity with container orchestration and cloud-native design patterns.
- Experience using Git-based workflows and version control best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to technical issues.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex systems to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative attitude and a readiness to work with cross-functional teams.
- A passion for continual learning, sharing knowledge, and mentoring others.
Responsibilities
- Engineer the AWS platform by architecting, developing, and managing scalable, cost-effective cloud infrastructure, focusing on serverless and containerized services (e.g., Lambda, Fargate, ECS, Docker). You’ll consistently monitor resource usage and provide recommendations for optimizations that reduce costs without sacrificing performance.
- Automate processes by designing and implementing reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and/or CloudFormation/SAM/AWS CDK.
- Develop CloudFormation and AWS SAM templates, build CI/CD pipelines (using CodePipeline, GitHub Actions), and streamline account provisioning tools to enhance delivery efficiency.
- Create a secure research enclave and data-lake interface that provides safe, user-friendly access to extensive data, utilizing least-privilege, role-based access controls along with intuitive front-end GUIs.
- Advocate for compliance and reliability by helping teams adhere to cloud security best practices, HIPAA, and NIST SP 800-171 standards. You’ll also develop standardized templates and guardrails to enforce policies and reliability across workloads.
- Promote security-focused operations by implementing IAM best practices, default encryption, automated backups, and disaster recovery exercises.
- Collaborate with clinicians, bioinformaticians, and data scientists to deploy ML and AI workflows that enhance pediatric care.
- Lead and mentor by offering technical guidance, sharing DevOps best practices, and mentoring junior engineers to enhance team capabilities and nurture a culture of operational excellence.
