Requirements
Must:
- Education: You should possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 5-8 years of pertinent work experience or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
- Skills and Abilities: It is essential for you to have over 3 years of experience working with Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). Additionally, having at least one vendor certification (preferably not entry-level) in Network Security (such as Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security, or Juniper JNCIA-SEC/JNCIS-SEC) or equivalent experience is required.
Responsibilities
As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will take charge of all facets of Network infrastructure operations. Your key areas of responsibility will include:
- Establishing network architecture, standards, and optimal practices while mentoring and training newer or less experienced team members.
- Managing firewalls and network filters across both enterprise and cloud networks while developing and upholding Intrusion Prevention policies.
- Working with networking protocols and concepts such as OSPF, BGP, VLAN, sub-netting, load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, SSH, VPN connectivity, and Network Access Control.
- Creating network security policies, documenting exceptions, and securing approvals, alongside defining security requirements to enhance the organization’s security controls.
- Aiding in proof-of-concept testing for potential network security solutions and maintaining network security policies, standards, processes, and workflows.
- Providing 24/7 on-call support for infrastructure-related service incidents and adhering to internal management escalation procedures as necessary.

The position operates in a hybrid model and requires you to be available during core business hours from Monday to Friday, between 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with potential weekend and evening work based on project demands. You will have access to the Ottawa server room, which requires NATO Secret clearance, and may need to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
