Intermediate Systems Engineer

As an Intermediate Systems Engineer at Thales, I will be part of the Systems Engineering teams located in Ottawa, Canada. My role will involve providing system engineering support throughout the project execution cycle, which includes specification, design, development, integration, testing, and acceptance. My key responsibilities will include: - Tailoring the system engineering process, practices, and tools; estimating and appropriately decomposing work; and providing timely and accurate status updates. - Developing preliminary and detailed designs for system and subsystem elements, as well as reviewing and validating internal and subcontractor designs, plans, and schedules. - Identifying, characterizing, and documenting issues in the system or its design through problem reports and design reviews. - Authoring technical documentation to capture system and subsystem designs, including architecture, interfaces, and installation elements. - Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure designs align with end-user needs and concerns, and supporting the development of verification and validation artifacts, including plans and procedures. - Collaborating with other functions during implementation and integration of system designs and resolving technical issues arising during implementation, integration, and testing. - Supporting the installation and/or integration testing of systems remotely or on customer sites, including managing subcontractor work scope and compliance.
