Requirements
Must:
- I require an advanced degree in Data Science, Data Analysis, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- I seek candidates with extensive experience in performing data analysis.
- A proven background in software development fundamentals such as command line usage, version control, pull request reviews, and software maintenance is essential.
- Proficiency in analytical programming languages like Python, R, or Julia is necessary, with a preference for Python.
- In-depth familiarity with data processing and analysis libraries such as Pandas or R’s tidyverse is expected.
- Strong understanding of SQL and data visualization techniques is crucial.
- A working knowledge of data structures and algorithms is also necessary.
Responsibilities
- I value data curiosity; many challenges we encounter are related to data issues, and the ability to analyze and process large datasets is essential.
- Determination to tackle problems while navigating technical and organizational barriers is key.
- An interest in threat detection and identification in a fast-paced environment is important, as attackers continuously seek ways to circumvent our systems. My expectation is to patch existing vulnerabilities in our detection methods and devise new strategies.
- A customer-focused mindset is essential, as this role functions both as a product and research team. I need teammates who are willing to engage with the codebase to provide value to our customers.
- I look for demonstrated ability to execute tasks and overcome challenges as they arise.
- Staying informed about advancements in Data Science, statistics, and related fields is a key expectation. The ideal candidate should be capable of interpreting and implementing ideas from research papers.

For this role, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada in a hybrid setup, the anticipated total compensation range is CAD $85,600 - 130,000 annually.
