Requirements
Must:
- 5+ years of practical experience in constructing or modifying OFDM-based PHYs (Wi-Fi / LTE/NR / cable / custom OFDM)
- Proven expertise in implementing and debugging:
- FFT/IFFT OFDM modem, cyclic prefix management, subcarrier mapping
- Pilot-based channel estimation and equalization
- Timing synchronization, CFO estimation/compensation, tracking loops
- Soft/hard demodulation and interfacing with FEC
- Strong proficiency in GNU Radio (GRC and/or custom out-of-tree blocks) alongside C++ and Python
- Familiarity with contemporary development environments: Linux, Git, reproducible build/run settings
- Experience with SDR hardware (USRP, Ettus, BladeRF, Lime, etc.) and RF laboratory tools (spectrum analyzer/VSA, signal generator, channel emulator)
Responsibilities
- Implement and modify complete OFDM PHY chains for both TX and RX, covering pilots, framing, synchronization, equalization, and demod/decoding
- Design and incorporate interference cancellation or superposition techniques (e.g., SIC, NOMA-like structures) within our novel waveform designs
- Construct and demonstrate SDR-based prototypes utilizing GNU Radio (C++ blocks + Python integration) and validate performance employing lab instrumentation
- Develop precise results for management, such as throughput vs SNR, BER/FER curves, EVM/MER, spectral regrowth/ACLR, and sensitivity to impairments (CFO/SFO, phase noise, PA nonlinearity)
- Integrate and enhance open-source PHY baselines when beneficial (e.g., 802.11 OFDM reference implementations) and add further PHY functionalities
- Produce succinct technical documentation and artifacts that can be utilized for product/IP strategy
