Private Cloud Systems Engineer (Linux, Automation)

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers and systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu) - Administer private cloud infrastructure encompassing compute, storage, and networking components - Monitor system performance, address issues, and optimize configurations for reliability and scalability - Manage user access, permissions, and control system security - Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks including deployment and configuration management - Utilize tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for automating system provisioning and management - Create monitoring scripts to track system performance, identify anomalies, and generate alerts - Support and maintain Linux-based private cloud platforms (e.g., OpenStack, Kubernetes) - Collaborate with engineering and development teams to implement scalable infrastructure solutions - Assist in deploying and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows - Apply system patches, updates, and best practices for security hardening - Enforce security policies to safeguard infrastructure and data - Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards regarding system security - Provide technical support for production systems, focusing on minimizing downtime - Conduct regular backups and validate disaster recovery processes - Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system incidents - Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver infrastructure enhancements and new capabilities - Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for operational continuity
