Requirements
Must:
We require a minimum of 5 years of experience in virtualization, hybrid cloud, and database architecture. Applicants should possess at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Nutanix Core. A strong background in Microsoft SQL Server is essential, along with substantial experience working with external customers in technical or consulting capacities. You should have demonstrated expertise in cloud design and deployment, which includes virtual machines, storage, networking, and databases. Significant direct experience in performing database migrations utilizing native tools across various platforms is important. Familiarity with Nutanix Database Service (NDB) will be considered an advantage. A VCP certification or equivalent experience is preferred. You must also have a solid understanding of Azure and AWS networking, security concepts, and best practices. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to whiteboard solutions and create detailed technical documentation. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is mandatory.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will be designing, deploying, and managing Nutanix AHV and Prism-based infrastructure. I will also be responsible for the installation, configuration, and upgrades of Nutanix Core, AOS, and Prism Central. Supporting and maintaining databases, specifically SQL, running on Nutanix clusters is a key duty. I will monitor the system’s performance, capacity, and scalability across Nutanix and database environments. Implementing and managing data protection, replication, and disaster recovery strategies will also fall under my responsibilities. Collaborating with application, database, and network teams to ensure optimal performance and reliability will be necessary. I will troubleshoot hardware, virtualization, and database-related issues within the Nutanix platform. Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for system configurations and procedures is essential, as is ensuring that systems remain compliant with security and backup standards.
Description
This is a full-time role that offers a hybrid schedule, requiring me to be onsite in Newark, NJ at least 2 days a week. The salary range for this position is between $135,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year. I will also receive various benefits, including 401(k) with matching, dental and health insurance, employee assistance programs, life insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and should not be from an agency. I will need to answer application questions regarding my Nutanix core experience, proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, and my availability for the onsite aspect of this hybrid role.
