Requirements
Must:
- Strong understanding of core networking principles (Layer 2/Layer 3, TCP/IP)
- Practical experience in enterprise or service-provider network settings
- Expertise in routing and switching technologies
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery design for networks
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) (preferred)
- Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) (preferred)
- Understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, DDoS protection) (preferred)
- Exposure to Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Functions Virtualization (NFV), or modern network architectures (preferred)
- Relevant industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent) (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and sustain core network architecture including routing, switching, and backbone infrastructure
- Ensure continuous availability, redundancy, and fault tolerance in core network systems
- Monitor and enhance network performance proactively, focusing on throughput, latency, and stability
- Configure and manage routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and MPLS
- Diagnose complex network issues and lead root cause analysis for critical incidents
- Collaborate with security, cloud, and systems teams to support secure and scalable connectivity
- Engage in network upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects
- Create and uphold network documentation, topology diagrams, and operational workflows
- Aid in capacity planning and strategizing for future network expansion
