Requirements
Must:
- Masters degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, encompassing both new development and production operations.
- In lieu of a Masters degree, a Bachelors degree in a related technical field with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience is necessary.
- Proficiency in designing and supporting data warehouses, data lakes, and high-volume data pipelines.
- Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra) and data intelligence and modeling solutions (e.g., ERWIN).
- Advanced knowledge in SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization of both structured and semi-structured data (e.g., JSON, Parquet).
- Established experience with RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle), NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse).
- Experience with data integration tools and programming languages (e.g., dbt, SSIS, Apache NiFi, Python).
- Understanding of governance, compliance, and security frameworks applicable to federal systems (e.g., FISMA, Section 508).
- Prior experience with judicial or federal data programs is a plus.
- Familiarity with court case management systems or integration of legacy systems is preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or CDMP are advantageous.
- Experience in data quality management, metadata cataloging, or data mesh architectures is a benefit.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data architecture frameworks for new projects, including data warehouses, data lakes, and integration platforms.
- Provide daily operations and maintenance support for the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and related data structures, staging layers, and metadata systems.
- Oversee monitoring of data pipeline jobs, system health, and database performance; troubleshoot failures, performance degradation, or schema anomalies.
- Maintain documentation of data lineage, update metadata repositories, and ensure quality control is adhered to across all systems.
- Plan for future capacity growth, integration needs, and adaptations to source systems.
- Address stakeholder support inquiries and offer data architecture expertise during enhancement requests or issue evaluation.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to facilitate analytics and enterprise reporting, following standards such as dimensional, 3NF, and data vault modeling.
- Construct and optimize data pipelines (ETL/ELT) utilizing tools such as dbt, Apache NiFi, SSIS, or custom workflows in Python/SQL.
- Choose and implement suitable technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, cloud-native services) based on both business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with data scientists, BI developers, and business analysts to ensure new architectures meet analytical and operational objectives.
- Work with the data governance team to enforce compliance standards using tools like Collibra.
- Guarantee that new solutions adhere to agency governance, metadata, and security protocols, including encryption, auditing, and data classification.
