Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in an Agile/Scrum setting.
- Minimum of 3 years as a Scrum Master for a software development team.
- Proficiency with agile tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar.
- Knowledge of various agile methodologies (e.g., User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing).
- Experience working within cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong servant-leadership capabilities.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to grasp technical concepts and relay them to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to coach and inspire teams.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) certification.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
- Ensure ceremonies are efficient, time-bound, and lead to actionable results.
- Maintain and refresh the teams sprint board and agile tools to ensure visibility and accuracy in work progress.
- Mentor the development team on Scrum values, principles, and best practices.
- Encourage self-organization and cross-functionality within the team.
- Identify and eliminate obstacles that impede the teams progress, escalating when necessary.
- Enhance the teams processes and productivity through retrospectives and feedback mechanisms.
- Establish transparent communication channels between the development team, Product Owner, and other stakeholders.
- Assist the Product Owner in ensuring a well-organized and prioritized product backlog.
- Shield the team from external distractions and unsolicited requests.
- Monitor and report on sprint progress, velocity, and other essential agile metrics.
- Leverage data to uncover trends, highlight areas for improvement, and convey team performance.
- Ensure adherence to Highmarks agile standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Contribute to the agile community within Highmark, sharing insights and learning from peers.
