Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other closely related engineering fields
- Masters degree preferred
- At least five years of relevant experience in avionics or related technical professions
- Strong understanding of avionics certification processes for FAA and other authorities
- Proficient in system/software integration and testing methodologies
- Experience with system analysis and requirements specification
- Familiarity with functional hazard assessments, FMEAs, and fault tree analyses
Responsibilities
- Review and assess product requests from clients and develop conceptual and practical design modifications to meet their specifications
- Analyze project proposals to evaluate feasibility, manufacturability, cost implications, and production timelines, while collaborating with engineers and stakeholders
- Assist clients in their development and design needs
- Conduct system/software integration tasks to ensure products function correctly
- Create new testing applications or update existing tools to facilitate integration activities and formal testing
- Assess product designs for compliance with engineering standards, customer needs, quality expectations, and specifications
- Aid the software/system development processes for both new and existing product lines
- Contribute to ground and flight testing of avionics systems
- Assist with aircraft system safety assessments, including the creation of functional hazard assessments and related analyses
- Participate in system and subsystem modeling and performance evaluation
- Provide certification support for TSO and STC initiatives
