Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and servers
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time
- Associates degree in computer programming or equivalent training preferred
- 5+ years of data center experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities
- Capability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Experience with data center operations and cabling
Responsibilities
- Remove network cables during data center decommissioning
- Run, label, and stage power and networking cables for decommissioning
- Follow procedures for the installation, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of equipment
- Prepare, stage, and set up hardware for basic startups and shutdowns according to written guidelines
- Conduct physical audits of data center assets
- Monitor systems for equipment failures or performance errors
- Address program error messages and resolve problems
- Assist programmers and analysts in testing and debugging new software
- Utilize spreadsheet programs and other software to manipulate data and generate reports
