Requirements
Must:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data center operations, IT hardware, or field technician roles (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Strong knowledge of server hardware, cabling standards, and best practices within data centers
- Capacity to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and work effectively in data center settings
- Ability to work independently while on travel
Responsibilities
- Deploy, install, and decommission data center equipment, including servers, racks, cabling, and networking devices
- Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on data center infrastructure
- Perform physical tasks such as racking, stacking, managing cables, and labeling components
- Adhere to change management protocols, as well as safety and security procedures at various customer locations
- Collaborate with remote teams, project managers, and on-site personnel
- Maintain precise documentation of completed work, issues faced, and their resolutions
- Travel to different data center locations across the United States based on project requirements
Description
We are looking for a Data Center Travel Technician to enhance our data center operations across multiple sites in the midwest region, providing an opportunity for those who relish technical work and travel, yet appreciate a balanced work-life schedule. This contract position is based out of Milwaukee, WI, with an expected travel commitment of about 75%, primarily occurring on weekdays, allowing our technicians to usually be home on weekends. We offer competitive compensation ranging from $40.00 to $50.00 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan, among others.
